Our ever weird and wonderful on site guitar technician, Eltham Jones, has managed to get his grubby (yet meticulously accurate) little hands on a raw lump of Mammoth tusk.
Well he claims that it's Mammoth tusk but since we are convinced that he is at least in part, a wizard, it has been rumoured that it is indeed from the horn of one of his stud Unicorns. They are said to roam free across the foothills of the mountains that border the valleys where his cave is situated. Although it is told that they flock to him when he saunters home, like lost and innocent hedgehogs, hypnotised by a plate of cat food.
Anyway, Mammoth tusk we shall call it. Or more correctly, fossil Mammoth ivory.
He will be using this rare and finite material to fashion nuts and saddles for us (ever in the pursuit of that sound we can never quite find) guitarists.
Here is an example of the first saddle cut:
As for the exact technical specifications and tonal qualities that this material will add to your much loved guitar. We think it best if you speak to the man himself, he will intrigue, inspire or bore you depending on the day, his mood and if the moon is waxing or waning.
You can contact Eltham through these mediums....although apparently telepathy is also an option.
